Here goes nothin'

My curiosity for blogging has definitely (that word always get's me, 2 e's not 3!) increased in the last 6 months or so. In the past I had checked out some of my friends blogs once or twice, but lately, geez I have found myself more intrigued and it is becoming an every day habit of mine.

Should I start one? No, nobody will read it, I would always think. But today is the start of something big...ok maybe not big, but something fun for me to do. I am a blogger.

Last week I made a list of things I want to change about myself, to better myself obviously. This year is the year of change. The year that I am going to figure out what truely makes me happy and I am going to do it.

Things that make me happy: (this is a list I made in my mind while I was running)
  1. My relationship with Jesus
  2. My soon to be husband :) and my family...he's my family, his family is my family, we are all family now.
  3. My friends
  4. Young Life
  5. My morning 6 mile runs

Now don't get me wrong, I have these in an order, but # 5 isn't less important becuase it's #5, they are all important to me, I don't pick favorites.

Here is a list of things I am going to get better at: I carry it in my wallet as a constant reminder :)

  1. Cussing. I have a bad habit to drop the f bomb whenever I can. It's so not Christ-like and I shouldn't do it. But I drive an hour to work and an hour home, I deal with crazy demanding customers, and I am trying to still figure out how to be able to do everything...I have been told you can't do everything. Is that true?
  2. Being more inviting. I was at our annual Young Life Leadership Retreat and one of the Area Directors was saying that we as Christians should be more inviting. I felt convicted, I don't think I am very inviting.
  3. Finding something I love and doing it. I don't think anyone should do something (work) becuase it pays the bills or because it's their only option. I am guilty of this and 2010 is the year that I will figure out what makes me happiest, what my calling is, and I am going to do it.
  4. Reading more Christian books. Let me ellaborate please, I have read many Christian books, but I have a nasty habit of never finishing them. I need to finish those. Nick and I are doing the My Utmost for His Highest this year and it's made me want to do more. I am going to do more.
  5. Reading more. Period. I have 6 books that I am halfway done with. How can I be doing that? I drives me crazy. It stresses me out. Anyone who knows me knows that it so out of character for me to do that....It drives me up the wall.

So there ya have it. My first blog. I don't know how often I will update this. But I will make it a habit to write in this :) Don't know if anyone will read it, I don't really care. Those of you who do, YAY! Those of you who don't, well, I got nothin for ya.
